Challenge: Help new short-term rental owners prepare their recently purchased condo for ski season and get off to a profitable start.

Mike and his wife have been visiting Vail every winter for the past 10 years. The two are avid skiers and love the coziness of the Bavarian-inspired village. In 2021, they finally made the decision to purchase a condo to use during ski season and occasionally during the summer months. Since the two only planned on using their condo for several weeks out of the year, they decided they wanted to operate it as a short-term rental to generate some additional income.

By the time they purchased their condo in November 2021, they were approaching Vail’s opening weekend and felt overwhelmed as they raced to prepare the condo for ski season. Because Mike and his wife live out of state, they knew they wanted a partner to help them manage their vacation home. When their real estate agent introduced them to AvantStay, they were eager to get started.

After Mike and his wife spoke with an AvantStay representative, they had a better understanding of our vacation rental management program and the entire onboarding process. Any feelings of stress or uncertainty were relieved once they learned that AvantStay would immediately take care of everything from policy and compliance to interior design, furnishing, and marketing.

To start, AvantStay’s interior designers purchased new furnishings and styled the condo with a comfortable and upscale nod to the mountains that surrounded it. Following the design upgrades, AvantStay’s in-house photography team staged and professionally photographed the space to optimize the property listing. Everything was quickly posted on AvantStay’s website, as well as other top OTAs including Airbnb and VRBO.

With the new eye-catching listing and the AvantStay team ready to handle bookings, create an exceptional guest experience, and more, the Vail condo was set for Colorado’s ski season in under one month!
